  • 1st ever grilling with lump

I bought a bag of cowboy lump today thought it was time to break the cycle.3 generations of grilling with Kingsford bricks.hopefully dad and grandpa aren't rolling thiere graves I lit up 2 chimney's a big one and a little one and was really surprised at how fast they lit and how hot.wow

Now I know I would have only needed 1 big one this stuff was really hot
here are the victims a couple nice juicy T bones.

    and on the coals

these coals were really hot and they turned out a couple of perfect bones after 3 min per side.

Tasted as good as they looked
next test will be on ribs in the wsmthanks for looking

    Yum

Great lookin steak, I just started using lump charcoal myself this year, that stuff does get hot, and in a hurry, I'm still trying to get used to it, and figure out how much I need for each cooking adventure.

I just grilled up a couple of New Yorks on the UDS in grill mode over RO lump.

Haven't had dinner yet but I'll let you know how they turned out.

Is it bad form to quote yourself . . . in someone else's thread??

Mine turned out nice and juicy. Tasted great but not as good looking as Bill's. I left mine on too long I think.

Sorry to hijack your thread Bill.
