  • Simple Shotgun Smoker

I know there are many different designs of these, just thought I would share this simple one. Had a chance to play with the plazma cutter as well!

Built this for the neighbor who primarily grills with gas and has two Weber Kettles - he's not really into long smokes, but likes to hit it with hickory.

I used a piece of 2 1/2" drill pipe X 8" - tall enought that his grill would still close. Left the bottom open with a separated iron grate. Top simply has two pieces of angle welded to the bottom to keep it from falling off. Handle - stole the chain idea from someone on here who is currently builing a wok...

Tested it on Saturday, with six briquets, it was still going strong after four hours. I think this will work for hamburgers and hotdogs!

    Here it is:
    Upside down

Underside of lid (just sits on top)

And there it is - Walle's Simple Shotgun Smoker!

Thanks for checking out my post.

not quite sure how it produces smoke tho?

let us not cry because we lost someone, but let us smile because we enjoyed their company for what time was allowed us!

Smartass... - It's designed to light a couple of briquetts, then fill it with chips or sawdust.

Definitely Smart Ass/Genious.... I did test some walnut sawdust in it, and yeah, I whiffed it up till you guys told me it was toxic... but since I just LOVE my neighbor, I have a five gallon bucket that I think I'll just give him to test his new smoke gun with

You guys are TOO MUCH!! Gotta love this site.

Thanks T-Bone! Works perfect for cold smoking, and for the gass grill if you just want a little smoke with something.

                            Thanks everyone.
