  • Bad day for a young doe...

But a good day for the Mad Hunky!

Thought it was just a head/front shoulder hit, but upon skinning down to the hinds, lots of brusing on the rear quarters... sigh.

BUT- the straps were just fine :{)

Yup, the hits are climbing pretty rapidly around here already also. Can't beat free easy backstrap. Glad it wasn't your vehicle that got it. So now you have the first part of Ted Nugents recipe -- kill it, now you gotta hit the final 2 -- grill and eat it. If ya need help, well, just send them my way.

Out here in the Wild West, we use big game rifles to harvest our deer. I forgot that in Michigan that deer hunting is a "contact sport:! At least you got some nice backstraps.

I thought the same about the one I hit a few years back. Thought it was a front end hit, but they do alot of fancy manuvers when you hit them. I really tried hard to salvage nice meat but it was mostly clots and mush, I got alittle here and there. Here in MI you can call the sheriff and get a carcus permit for free. At least ya got something for your troubles.

Nothing wrong with a little free venison. Put to good use. More people need to get out there and hunt these guys, and the gals (does).
Interesting fact? Deer collisions with cars are responsible for more vehicle damage (dollar wise) than ALL OTHER accidents combined.

Nice. Both sides got it? Usually you can salvage the opposite side of the hit.

In all honesty, I stripped down the back and right hind and seen the damage there, and just quit and yanked the loins... the left side mighta been OK tho. Now yer making me feel guilty ;{)
