  • Birthday Smoke

Last Monday was my youngest boys 21st birthday (time flies) He told his mom all he wanted was some BBQ and Budweiser.

Due to the 20 mph gusts of wind we were having I had to move my setup, but it was closer to the cooler and company so it turned out much better.

Had to have a stern discussion with Mrs.Nickelmore about foiling versus not. Since we were having company I think i chose to lose the discussion and went with foiling.

The ribs were done with shooter ricks magic dust rub, Yoshidas sweet and sour (thanks Ron P) and one was left plain so folks could choose a sauce of there own.

The mini yard birds were marinated in a simple marinade for about 6 hours or so.

The lobster tails, I split the top side of the shell peeled the meat out of the shell leaving it attached at the tail, coated it with evo and very light dusting of Tony's seafood seasonings.

Cooked them for about an hour, they were oh so good, my bro in-law thought I was crazy for smoking something like that, (funny he always seems to eat)

With the amount of meat in the smoker I mis judged the finishing time of the mini yard birds so the lobster tails were served up as an appetizer

now that's just got me drooling

Never had lobster like that - hell I've never had meat from a decent sized lobster period.

And I wish I could get slabs of ribs like that over here.

Dunno if I've got any left today but that lot's worth for sure :-)

                Thanks

Wife just walked in from the grocery and was able to score with 6 more tails that were marked down.

This time I will take more pictures and maybe get to taste some before the guests devour them.
