  • Glen Ellyn, IL. Backyard BBQ Cookoff 9/18/2010

I am doing this event this Saturday. A small - 25 teams, bragging rights event. A rib cook off, and a best dish category. KCBS rules, but not KCBS sanctioned. Ill be doing bb ribs, or spares(depends on what looks best Friday night @ the RD). Plus a undecided "best dish".

Probably my last cookoff, but since I signed up for it back in February and alreay paid I figured I had to give it a go. I am too old & busy to be lugging smokers and coolers full of beer and food around on my weekends.

Illinois folks come on out, there will be a band, and other things going on. Stop by and say hi. My team name is Hawg Holler BBQ.

          yep,

I think 1 of the judges is a town dignitary, 1 is from a local cooking school, and 1 is a bbq competition guy.

scores and tastes could be skewed.

FYI..cook some overpriced, overcooked, restaurant style ribs, and you'll be ok.

                        Good luck

Already have plans with the wife to o out to Starved Rock for a Illinois Wine gathering.

If the weather changes my plans, maybe I will stop by up there.
