In more ways than 1. Lookin to try Richtee's biscuit recipe and woke up hungry(or should I say Hungary)so I printed off the recipe and went to work. Browned off some of the bacon pieces I had from the belly bacon I did a couple of weeks ago.
Then browned off some breakfast sausage for some gravy.
Mixed 1lb flour, 1 egg beaten, 1t salt, 1 medium potato cooked in water and mashed in same water to a slurry, 1 pk of yeast, and the bacon bits(used the fat in the gravy). I worked the dough by hand until it got to a good biscuit consistancy. Rolled it out and cut 3" rounds and set them aside to proof.
Finished up the gravy.
Then after about an hour or so of proofing the biscuits went into a 350o oven for about 45 minutes.
Then breakfast was ready!
This is a great tasting biscuit recipe. I've never tried a yeast raised biscuit but I really like it. I think they could have proofed a little more so next time I'll make up the dough the night before.
Thanx Rich!
