I have a kroger store here, well many of them.
They send out flyers weekly and tonight they are
featuring Corned beef for the holiday.
Time to stock up! Not sure if the prices are the same
elswhere but this is the best week usually to get corned beef.

Just smoke em up and enjoy. Don't forget to do the fry pan test for saltiness first and soak if needed.
My last few were fine
no soak needed.

Good luck!

That's a real good price, Ron. Our Sam's Club here has them for $2.98 a pound. That could be just for the flats. I didn't look that close.

Just picked up a couple of flat cuts at our local market, around $3/lb. I also noticed most of the flats were cut near the point, had a good chunk of the point end (fat line) still attached. If you look through them you can pick out chunks that are just the flat cut.

I love Kroger- wish we had one closer. Our special at Brookshires which is a good one around here is $1.99/lb. I don't know the cut yet since it just calls it a brisket in the ad, but I'll be going up there today to check it out.

I'm also going to see if them or Wally goes on even more sale later next week to try to get rid of any they have left over. The downside is that they probably don't have to do that since the shelf life is so long on them.
