Definetly Hickory. I have quite a few of the shag bark variety though.

I was recently given several hickory "stumps" that I am chopping up, but I am going to season this a bit first. I have heard stories of people swearing by using hickory "green". I'll try it just for the experience.

With the amount that you have I don't think you'll use it all before it is nicely seasoned though. Good luck!!!

I did a google on the blackjack oak and it says it is a very dense wood and is used for bbqing and produces a hot flame. Not recommended in fireplace though. So it looks like you are set with wood for a while.

It will also dull the crap out of a chainsaw blade.
