  • I got my new thermo today

I got my Thermo for my UDS project in the mail today. I have to say it looks sweet.

It shipped quick and I got a good price on it (from what I have seen shopping around), but....

I am a little miffed that it didn't come with the mounting hardware and now I have to find and order it too.

For $47 plus s&h, I thought it would have all the pieces I needed to use the damn thing. /off

You might want to contact the folks who you got the therm from and let them know your dilemma. Maybe it was overlooked when it was shipped (trying to think positive). Can you post the link from where you got it? Points to ya for buying Made in America!

Thanks for the info. I just went to the Tel Tru site and the installation kit is extra. http://www.teltru.com/p-344-barbecue...inch-stem.aspx
I think this is the one you ordered; look at the bottom of the page. They make no mention of the installation kit; imo they owe you one. If they don't see things your way, you can get it direct from Tel Tru http://www.teltru.com/p-448-thermome...t-4903101.aspx $6.25

Well, with a Teltru, generally the kit is extra. Even if you order from Teltru. That has been my experience.

I think that a lot of the thermos they sell go on bigger smokers with threaded fittings so they generally don't include the mounting kit.

I would think that the nuts and washers are very compatable with the electrical fitting knock out nuts. I know mine is from my pitts and spitts and they cost about a dime at a local hardware store.

I was thinking that is what I did, too.

It is a standard 1/2" NPT Fitting...easy to find a lock nut at the hardware store on the cheap...Go to a smaller hardware store where they actually have people that know WTF is going on, and they will probably set you up for less than a quarter.

Or perhaps standard plumbing threads. Seems they could toss in a couple nuts and a washer or two tho, eh?

I have to go to Lowes today anyway so I am going to try to find a couple washers and nut to fit it. Just seems like a PITA that I have to go find one, since this thing cost me about $50.
