The giving of POINTS?

I assume the points system is used by a lot of the members. Just checking to see if I have it down correctly?

Members that are doing builds I give points to

Members that cook something and write it up and post with pictures I give points to

Members with a special post on a unique idea or method I give points to

Anything COWGIRL posts, good food, smoked food, a piece of freakin wilted lettuce, I give points to her.

Is that about correct in the way to use the points system?

I'm pretty sure we all have different reasons for giving points. Yours seems to be right on the mark. My thinking is that the point system is in place to help each of us give a little extra atta boy to a good post, deed what have you. Some new folx probably don't know how to give a post points yet. I know over at smf it took me a pretty long time to realize that it was an ACTUAL thing and not just a comment of " points " as a universal way of saying good job.

yes and thank goodness that 2 time limit per day or the having to spread reputation regulations are not in play here... i like givin peeps points and really hated those lil pop up boxes that prevented from giving out points as you pleased. JMHO!

Ah but there comes a time when one member raises the bar so high that you have to move the goalposts for them.
What to cowgirl is an everyday snack, for most of us (who aren't professional chefs lol) would be a real serious masterpiece.

So I've had to really curb the giving of points to cowgirl unless it's something truly spectacular !

Although in practice most of her dishes are - so it hasn't made much difference

I'll give points if people come out of their comfort zone or impress me in any particular.
Or sometimes just for the hell of it :-)

It's a great system - just wish I could implement it on my other forum.
