  • Homegrown Pumpkin-n-Butternut Squash Custard Pie

Harvested this in early october...Sweet pie pumpkins are great compared to a jack-o-lantern etc...

Steamed her up with enough butternut from garden to fill pan

Easy as pie..make crust and butter..freeze 10 minutes and pre-bake crust at 425 degrre for 13 minutes...

Custard...powdered fresh cloves,cinnamon,2 eggs and cup evaporated milk

350 degree 15 minutes and done...Nice firm bottom crust and sweet from squashes.

    Bad lighting....

Damn!! That pie looks good enough to eat through the screen.

Luckily I have some goodies on the counter to hold me over until you can send me a slice....
