    tapas |ˈtäpəs| |ˈtɑpəz| |ˈtapəs|
    plural noun
small Spanish savory dishes, typically served with drinks at a bar.
ORIGIN Spanish, literally ‘cover, lid’ (because the dishes were given free with the drink, served on a dish balanced on, therefore “covering,” the glass).

    1 lb pitted dates
    4 oz. crumbled blue cheese
    1 lb. bacon

Stuff dates generously with blue cheese and wrap with bacon. Pin with a tooth pick. grill until bacon is done...or bake if necessary. Drizzle with a vinaigrette, before serving.

    b stuffed

    'n wrapped

    grilled 'til bacon is done.

I don't have a pic of them cut open. They'll have to just be like the Sports Illustrated Swim Suit Edition™...leaves more fore the imagination Sounds like a strange combo, but they are unbelievably good!!
    Thanks for looking.

Never thought of dates and blue cheese, but it sure does look good wrapped in bacon.

Bump for Ryan. Might be one for the "sweet" side of the Apps comp?

I have made these and they are excellent!

                            Howdy y'all

The alternative to the blue cheese filling is chorizo. Cook chorizo "first" stuff the dates, wrap with bacon and grill to the point of the bacon being done. These can be drizzled with a sexy vinaigrette to your liking
