  • Who has a Thermopen? are they really that good?

I really have been thinking about getting one but the price is high. 3 seconds would be nice though my digital tayler one takes like 20 seconds and that sucks. How long have you had yours and it still works good and all that good stuff? ThermApen oops

I've heard rumors that the red one is the absolute fastest.

Only had mine about 8-9 months and its awesome. No problems. Bright Green not only looks the best, its also the fastest FYI.... But that's always open for debate.

I got mine about 6 months ago and love it. It truly is about 3 seconds to read the temp. But I'm pretty sure the BLUE one is the fastest!

Ahh Jeez Bassman, IT IS A PROVEN FACT, that the ORANGE ones are the fastest on the face of the earth...

That being said, I own an orange one, the "pre-splashproof" last year's model, and it rocks! I loved it so much, as did Mrs. Hawg, I bought her a lime green one... Super quick, accurate, and will make you wish you had bought one sooner.

          They are worth every penny!

I'm probably the only one in the world that killed mine. I damn near completley melted it in a drunken stupor. Miss it bad.

The best thing about them other than the speed is the super small hole they leave after taking a temp.

Congratulations on your place finish. And it sounds like you were SO CLOSE too.

Just kidding. Sounds like it will be a step up from your other one. Enjoy.

Yes...they are that good. One of the most used tools in my kit. It almost guarantees consistent smokes, and more smiles in every crowd of finger licking BBQ connoisseurs...and the red one is amazingly fast.

The beautiful thing about the small probe is that using any other probe is like driving a rail road spike into your butt which leaves an gaping and oozing hole that butt juice just pours out of...dang, now I feel dirty.
