  • Yankee Smoker

just wanted to say Hi! I'm in CT, been BBQ'in for years... both charcoal and gas and just jumped into the world of smoking. Using a brinkmann vertical water smoker fired w/ charcoal.

but i've already determined that this forum is a huge help. i can't wait for this next weekend to get out there and smoke some of the amazing suggestions/recipies i've found here.

Having the guys over for poker night this saturday so (with back up also), i'm planning on trying some of the appetizers, a brisket, etc... in the new smoker. I'll take pictures and post on the progression. being that it is still one of the first times using this smoker, like i previously said, i have backup in case the food doesn't turn out well.

    thanks again!

think currently (aside from awesome recipe suggestions) i'm looking for other smokers who use the water bowls and what do they put in them? beer/marinde/water/whiskey, etc......

Good to have ya here Eric. Back up plan is good. In no time at all with help from the good people here, you will not be needing the back up plan.

Check out the appetiser forum and see if that answers anything for ya, or gets the wheels turning anyways.

Eric, good to have ya here. Who is your favorite team up there? Poker night with a brisket, not a bad plan and smart having a back-up. Gotta have a back up. We got fantastic weather going here today and tomorrow, 75 today and they say 83 tomorrow. All of this is supposed to shift off to New England starting Wednesday and Thursday, so you might have some primo smoking weather coming.
