  • Deep fried Mozzarella with a twist

Saw an episode of Guys big bite that inspired this, took the idea and used packaged indivual string cheese, egg roll wrappers, soppresatta, fresh basil leaf and sun dried tomato paste. Didn't get any pics of the breading and deep frying, but you all know the drill there, flour, egg wash, panko, yada yada yada. Did this stage ahead of time and deep fried at a birthday party. Big hit but I should have served it with some marinara dipping sauce, oh well next time.

Give it a try. No end of variations you can do. The wrappers keep the cheese from oozing out during deep frying and the pre packaged cheese is the perfect size for the wrappers. Im thinkin next time some pepper jack sticks or some cheddar, hmmm all kinds a stuff coming to mind now.

When you get a little spare time, why don't you put together a tray of those and ship em up this way. They'd go down awful easy right about now!

Oh yeah, those look like they're going to be good. I use those wraps to make chili rellenos. I like them better than the egg dipped ones.
