  • French bread

Thanks to Derek, I had to make some french bread this weekend. Nothing crazy, just french bread.

    Thanks for looking.

    Ingredients.

    Mixing.

After two fermentation periods, scaled and resting.

Ready for proofing. I got a little carried away with my cuts.

    Out the oven.

                    Thanks.

It is soooooo much better than store bought. Especially about 15 minutes out the oven, still warm.....

                      Man those turned out great!!

You might be more happy with your cuts if you do them more along the length of the loaf instead of across the loaf...

Thanks, King. I'll give it a try next time.

I'm also thinking of getting a couple of these.

Well come on Sally, get your big girl panties on and get a bakin Ya got room for one more hobby don't ya

Now on to New Smokes post. Bread looks great, well done. Just like smoking meat, it's a learning process, each time getting easier than the last. Just think, now you can make your own buns next time you do pulled pork.

Since your gettin into the bread gig, you might want to check out those bread forums, like "the fresh loaf" and "breadtopia" for starters. Just like here, they have some quality people and lots of know how.
