  • Creamy chunky love to warm the innards

Nothing like a thick bowl of tater soup to warm you on a snowy day. And Bacon biscuits to boot! Good shit man...

I believe it was Kevin (BigRedQ) posted a recipe at SMF (Lost in the crash of 2008/2009) I made it one time, good lord was it good.. It was sooo rich you could feel your arteries start to clog up..

                      Anyone capture his recipe??
                      Ken

I Should Have Been Rich Instead Of Being So Good Looking

I used the bacon I just smoked. Didn't see Kevin's recipe

I use this one. Very simple and been the same for years. Used to use Velveta before the canned cheese sauce came along.

                        1 dozen medium potatoes
                        1 lb. Bacon or Ham
                        1 large Onion
1 12oz. can Cream Style Corn
1 12 oz. can Nacho Cheese Sauce
                        16 oz. Heavy Cream
                        1 tsp. CBP
                        ½ tsp. Garlic powder
                        Salt to taste

Ken, Here ya go .......Thank DDave for the save.

Here is the recipe that you seek . . .

                              Potato Soup
(originally posted by BigRedQ who was HuskerQ before the crash)

7 Yukon potatos. diced (small and big chunks) 6-7 cups
                              1 med yellow onion chopped
                              4 cups chicken broth
4 cups half and half cream
                              1 stick butter
1 1/2 cups instant potatos (makes for a great thickener)
                              1/2 tsp black pepper
                              1/2 tsp celery salt
                              Kosher salt to taste.

using the chicken broth bring potatoes, onions, salt pepper and celery salt to boll. cook until potatoes are tender.

combine half and half melted butter and instant potatoes. stir until thickened. Heat through and serve it up.

I saved a copy before the crash.

It is excellent soup by the way.

                              Dave
