  • Pocket Bread is not a PITA

In fact it's probably harder to screw up a good biscuit than to make these.

I guess I didn't take a pic of the rolled out discs of dough, but they were about 6 inches in dia. and 1/4 inch thick. I made 6.

They really puff up when you put them in a hot oven. some almost turn into a ball of about 5 inches.

I sorta helped them deflate. Ouch! I forgot you really gotta watch the steam.

Went out and bought some nice beef shanks with the big ol marrow bones in them for some soup. I thought I had barley, but was out. So I remembered Alex recommending using Rice.. Rhutabega and a bunch of other veggies.

Gave the pittas a quick toast in a skillet with some olive oil just to make them abrasive enough to rub on some fresh garlic.

    Dinner.

Very nice, good beef stew and home made pittas

Now if you've got a recipe for the pittas I might have some points

No secret. just out of one of my bread books. It is a pretty basic recipe and I had done some whole wheat or half and half. I could type it or just google one.

Good looking pita bread, Lee. My wife would have had one of those stuffed with grilled chicken and a lot of other stuff.
