Helloo, Just thought you guys would like to see what you can do with an old stove and a trashed 22.5" webber. Girlfriend calls them my Hippy trash. I hopefully will be able to start a new one soon and take some pics of the build!

Well that is pretty cool. :welcome: to S-M, glad you found us. That set up would work well as a cold smoker too I reckon. Stop on over at the new members area and tell us a bit about yourself so others know we have a new member. :thumb:

Old stoves have become pretty easy to find now that insurance companies freak on them.

I have made 5 of these now, usually $150-200.

them are awesome! i never would have thought about doing that. it makes perfect sense though. I assume you could do just about anything with those as far as temperature is concerned...

Nice build, do u need a ladder, or u that tall. :thumb::welcome:

The tall skinny stove has the top rack at about chest height for the upper rack in the webber. I have no problem putting meat inside it, I use both racks for meat. That gives me a 18" round grill and a 22" round grill in the smoke chamber.

The more horizontal stoves are what I usually build. Can still use the webber as a grill using the thicker coal grate inside it. Then a brand new top grate from an 18" fits perfectly for the bottom grate, for when i smoke with the wood stove.Grill height is 40" but could be shorter with a shorter riser pipe. I like the height better than what webber gives you on their original setup.

I hate hunching over a grill!
