  • Crawfish Stuffed Bread

    Late yesterday afternoon, decided to try this recipe. Overall, it was very good but could have been better had I added some herbs into the dough. The dough itself was kinda bland, but the stuffing saved it.
    Anyways, here's a couple of pictures.

    Stuffing--Basically just crawfish tails, cajun trinity and seasoning.

    Looks pretty damn good to me
    Yeah herbs might be a good tweak, , ,what about corn bread? dunno

      I think the next time I do this recipe, it will be with corn bread. I will grind he crawfish mixture and incorporate it in with the cornbread before cooking. may give that a try next weekend.

              looks like some cheese in there too

                I did add some cheese.. a mix of cheddar and pepper jack. i baked the bread, cut it in half, scooped out one side and added the mixture. Then I added the cheese and wrapped in foil and back on the smoker for 30 minutes.

                I had a piece left over and re-heated it in the smoker today and it was even better.

                Definitely in the "do again" list with a few modifications.

                  Man those look awesome...Ma-in-law used to make the crawfish pistolettes...man I could eat a bunch of those...

                    I wanted the pistolettes but could not find any. My neighbor did some last year with pistolettes but he fried them. those were killer. Definitely on my menu for the summer.

                        First time making it. It was pretty taste. Can't wait for the crawfish prices to come down. Still a bit on the high end at $3/lb for live.
