    Gorditas

I wanted to make something different. This is my take on gorditas . Its super simple and oh so good. I guess this is what you would call a Mexican comfort food.

    Filling
    2 lbs ground beef
    4 potatoes ½” cubes
    2 Tbsp garlic salt

Cook GB until almost done add potatoes cover and reduce heat cook until potatoes are soft ( about 20 minutes) uncover and brown over high heat

    Shells

I use the recipe on the bag MASECA brand masa this is basically a raw corn tortilla deep fried

    They are the best

Gorditas are the best, there is a place in Chicago that absolutly has the best.

You can order them with almost any kind of filling combination, I like the chese and mushroom and the steak and cheese.

Thanks for the idea, I have to work on my disck cooker.....

not a huge fan of cornmeal - but fried with that filling - yeah I'd eat a few of those

Betcha if you used pulled brisket instead of the ground beef they'd be awesome
