  • Steak with cheese and nuts

Made these this past Saturday night. My wife's favorite and one of mine, too.

I usually buy a couple of butt ends of beef tenderloin at one of the local big box stores. They come two/pack and are usually a decent price. Trim the silver skin and any fat, cut as many steaks out as I can, vac and freeze. We like these, cause you always know your going to get a tender, juicy, delicious steak. These are from some that I did a few monts ago.

Had some sweet potato oven fries and broccoli to go with it.

    Thanks for looking.

    The fixings.

The pecans I got out of the freezer to replace the burnt-to-hell pinenuts that I threw out. While I was toasting the pine nuts, the guy that hunts around our place came to the door and I got to talking. You know how it goes. I hate when I burn my nuts. Oh well, the pecans are just as good.

Steaks on. BC charcoal with a couple pieces of oak for flavor.

    Steaks off.

    The cheese.

The steaks hanging out with the cheese. My 3 year old son just wants the meat. Under the broiler until the cheese starts to brown.

On the plate. Sorry for the finger smudge on the plate. I'll do better next time. I wanted to eat.

My wifes plate. She will destroy one of these. I love her.

    My son's plate.

Not food related, but very cute. Who new a basket would make such a great play-pen.

Another great way to have these is over garlic roasted mashed potatoes with a porcini mushroom demi glace.

Never would have thought about adding pine nuts or any nut like you did, but I gotta say it looks great. Thanks for sharing this one

                      Thanks everyone.

That cheese is great. Comes in a variety of flavors. Mixes with mashed potatoes real well, too. Super soft and smooth, just melts in your mouth.

I forgot to say I toasted the nuts in a little bit of oil and butter with S&P, oregano, onion powder and garlic powder.
