But, I mostly use it for quicky stuff like ABT's and Fattys, And also when I foil, use it as an oven. When I first bought it, I did everything in it including : brisket, lotsa chicken, butts, jerky and meatloaf. Haven't used it since buying my bigger smoker. I just last week figured I would try it again for some spares and a small 3.5 lb butt. It did ok considering I was working at the time, it's insulated and was cold outside. But there was no comparison against the charcoal/wood burner flavour and quality of the finished product. But I was in dire need of some smoked meat.

They're great for smoking almonds. :D They work great as cold smokers, too.

my smoker of the electrical variety is a home built... I only only use for cold smoking or ... as my sausage house.

I admit... I own three electrics. MES, little chief and a big chief. I know... I know... one of these days I'll step up to a stick burner.

Used to have one. Wish I still did for doing sausage.

I use an electric, but I can change. If I have to. I guess.

yep - that's me, original bradley. But seriously looking to build something cheaper to run (wood from trees is free - wood from bradley is bloody expensive)

My ECB elec is somewhere in storage (around Detroit).... agree it could be handy as you currently use it, Lee. But I find the drum is just about as easy to fire up and manage, too.

I've got an MES and a homemade electric/charcoal hybrid. I liked the MES temp control and the BTU's you get from charcoal, so thought why not both :banana_smiley:.

As the charcoal burns down the element takes over holding temps steady, saves fuel just like a car :bounce:.

I just got my first smoker ever from my wife for my birthday. It's an electric Brinkman. Seeing that I am new to this and after alot that I have read here I am looking forward to getting more and different equipment to expand my knowledge and experience base. This said, my experience with the Brinkman has been great. So far I have done a Tri-tip, a few chix and a London Broil. I used hickory and mesquite. I was very pleased with the results. :sausage:
