  • Precision Engineered Homemade Rub Shaker

One morning I bought one of these...and knew I couldnt throw it away when I was done

Washed it out, drilled a couple holes in the top, and now I have a new easy-to-refill rub shaker

....so I was a little bored

The difference between precision and accuracy- hitting the same spot repeatedly is precision. Hitting the RIGHT spot is accuracy. FYI, in case it comes up

      THAT's recycling folks... BRAVO!

In school, think it was physics class we had a discussion about the difference between accuracy and precision, with a great little diagram.

Accuracy is being able to get a result that is close to the ACTUAL answer. They showed a bullseye with hits all over the target, but when averaged together the center was very close to the center of the bullseye.

Precision is the ability to reproduce the same result over and over. It showed a bullseye, with a real tight group of shots, even though they were not centered on the target.

Anyway, just clarifying what Richtee said... but that explanation has served me well over the years.

I just use my old 1lb spice bottles, like from whole black pepper. That way it is resealable (sort of).

Had thought about using the plastic quart mayo jars as a rub shaker.....need decent sized hands, if hands are wet/has greese might be hard to hold.
