Fot my first real smoke of my new comp smoker, we smoked Beef Ribs, Pork Ribs, Chicken thighs and wings, brats, and a pork shoulder.. The smoker is performing beyond my expectations for a RF unit. I have to adjust for the slightly faster cook times due to the radiant heat from the plate, but other than that this thing rocks. 5.5 pounds per hour coal and a few wood splits for flavor.
Used my Beef and Shoulder rub on the Beef ribs, and finished them with a Honey Chipotle BBQ sauce of my own creation. Man candy on a stick!
I did the chicken and ribs with my other rubs in development. The thighs were finished with a raspberry pomegranite glaze, and the wings got the honey chipotle bbq sauce. Sauce wasnt on the wings yet in this picture. It was dark after we pulled the ribs, and they got devored by a crowd of eager neighbors after being tormented all day.
Great way to break in the new toy! Have an Angus Brisket, Pastrami, and another pork shoulder to do tomorrow. The one I cooked today went home with a friend to finish to help feed a family that had a member pass away last night.
See ya'll tomorrow!
