  • Appetizer Dilemma! ....... What Y'all Think?

I have posted this type of thread a few times before, but it makes for some great reading & ideas........

I have a party to go to on Saturday afternoon (BBQ Themed) and am looking for something interesting to bring..... Right now, first on the list is bacon wrapped Mad Hunky chicken spears..... But am always interested in hearing about anything & everything that are your favorites......

Yanno..I been pondering those ham roll thingies... with the green onion and the cream cheese? What if ya smoked some garlic, and made a "compound cream cheese" similar to the way I made the compound butter? Maybe even a few chilis for some chipolte heat!

My mom makes these ham roll ups, where she spreads cream cheese on the slice of ham, she uses Krakus ham, then puts a whole Claussen pickle in the slice, rolls it up cuts into slices, and holds them together w/ toothpick. They go fast and our awesome.

yup! them are good! i love em... just can't figure out how to spread the cheese without tearing the ham. lol

last time i made ABT's, we hd some left over "stuffing"... went perfect with some good crackers. i used some scream cheese, shredded smoked cheddar, some BBQ seasonings, onion powder, garlic powder, and just mixed it all together.

We do the ham roll thing a little different here, soften the cream cheese and wack it with some horse radish. We spread it on either dried beef or lebanon bologna. I like the dried beef, the saltiness of that with the sweet cream cheese and then the kick from the horse radish is awesome!

You could mad hunky them with mixing some rub in the cream cheese!

nobody invites me to parties :-(
It's one of the downsides of being the bloke who throws the best bbqs and makes all his own bbq food.
That and not getting drunk lol
Who wants asober bloke at a party who you know is thinking: 'I can make stuff better than this in my sleep'

But I'm definitely inviting sqwuib to mine
