  • Grass Fed Sirloin off the kettle

Really impressed with my first sampling of the grass fed beef I bought from the folks @ Wallace Farms. 8 oz. sirloin, $6.

Flavor of the meat was popping, not much marbeling, but in the end this steak was killer. Juicy, flavorfull, tender, etc.

Let the steak sit for a while a room temp., then applied some kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, & a dash of cajun seasoning. Onto the kettle over roaring hot Kingsford Blue Bag. 3 minutes per side with the lid on. Then allowed to rest for 10 minutes.

Paired with some baked potatoes I halved and removed the potato filling, and refilled with butter, cheese and sour cream, kind of like potato skins. Also did some veg.

Beverages of choice was Tecate & White Dog.

First or 2nd time having grass fed beef, I am a fan.

Just speculating it might be from the different diet..

Im a big fan of Buffalo Trace bourbon as well. This stuff is what they get straight from the still, before aging. rocket fuel..

Awesome steak, Jim! And yes, you can't go wrong with Kentucky bourbon! Try some Woodford Reserve sometime.

It happens... heh. Ate grass fed before there was anything special about it, and the fat had a bit of a yellow color. Actually, clover/timothy fed.

Looks really really tasty. And it looks cooked to perfection in my eye. That said at 12.00/lb won't be anything I can afford on my 10.00/hr
