  • Fishing for Q Rib Burn Results

Had an opportunity to cook ribs against some top local talent over the weekend at the Fishing for Q outing in St Joe, MI and fared pretty well against some fierce competition. Had a chance to taste them all in the peoples choice category and let me tell you they were all some great ribs. I owe many thanks to those who helped me along and gave me tips on good ribs whether you know it or not. Learned a bunch and had a blast, thanks Dan for doing this. Congrats to Rich and Phil on the wins!

My 3 racks of spares were cooked on my drum I brought down for the day over lump and apple. My partner Tom helped trim the night before and since we forgot our rub helped borrow some from Jerry and Barb, which ended up working out pretty well for us. Cooked 3-2-.5 to perfection, thanks Travis for helping know when to pull them and for the kind words along the way. As newbies we need all the help we can get!
