  • Anyone thought of using one of these?

Never thought of ,or seen anyone make a smoker or grill from one of these kitchen kettles. This ones 36" tall and 40" wide, all stainless and he s asking $200. Wish I had a few extra hundred to spend. Near ,Trenton NJ

Nope, but now I am! Stainless is at $1 per pound for scrap, so 200 isn't too far out of line in my eyes. I could see other, better uses for 200 bucks, but it is virtually a BIG rust-proof weber kettle so...

Trust me, I have thought of way of turning an old steel desk into a smoker... I bet we could turn one of these things into one also.

    Former Lineup:
    -Charbroil Santa Fe grill
    -1954'ish Philco fridge smoker
-1950's GE electric fridge smoker in progress (Went to WuTang and will probably never be completed. lol)
-enough beer to drown any problem/ailment you may encounter

Might be a real project but you might want to check this out as it's a bit cheaper and ready to go.

Yup. 200 bucks is allot, but you would have a grill that lasts a lifetime
Personally, I think 200 bucks would be better spent on either a used or new Weber and use the leftover cash to buy some meat and beer

Plus, you will need to have some sort of grate made for that thing AND, not as portable as say a Weber.

I would love to have 2 of those and make a sphere then cut out a atlas and plumb in some pipes for propane and have it as a fire pit.....
