  • Get off my keister and clean out the freezer

So wanted to do a little simple BBQ. Also wanted to do it on the cheap today. And want to use some stuff like spices etc so i can get to using my MAD HUNKEROO. So into the freezer we go, and what do we find.....

SOME CHICKEN. And it gets rubbed and put on the weber with the remains of kingsford blue bag, and some lump.

Then we let that cook, and we also find some little ribeyes that I got from the dollar store for ....wait for it...A BUCK!

little dollar store Kansas city steak rub on them.

And like I said on the cheap. So we made some garlic bread, and had some pot salad in the fridge. Nothing fancy but here be my plate of food....

Now next time I do some BBQ I can use my mad hunky as the leftovers, and dribs and drabs of spices are used up.

that's what i was wondering... i would love to see brisket for under $2/lb right about now. lol.

no shit, i saw a piss-poor cut of flat (not even the full flat... just a little 3 or 4 lb chunk) for $6.99/lb on saturday. it took all i had not to just leave my cart and walk out of the store.

          Later,

They were advertising 3.5oz ribeyes for 1.00. These are individually packaged steaks that weigh 3.5 oz. I don't know if you can tell by the pic but they are very thinly cut and about 4inches in diameter. so at 3.5 oz it is slightly more than 4.00 a lb. It was a cheap experiment. I have had worse steak, but I have definitely had better.

yeah, but for that price, worst case scenario, you have some damn good fajitas.

                  Good little bbq meal

Our pound shop in swad used to do frozen food - but I think the continued rise in electricity prices just priced the freezers out of the shop budget. No more cheap frozen crap :-( lol
