Dat ain't cheap! And I bet you'd have to do a bunch of mods to make it work "smooth".

man I didn't click on the link....if you read it is only a 36" chamber and the smoke stack is way at the top of it....you can do better then that one...heck I would take a lang before that one and I'm not of fan of those either

Without seeing any pics of the inside, it might be fairly decent right out of the box
I couldn't locate this smoker on the Brinkmann site, so it's probably not in production anymore. And yes, it's a bit pricey......new.

Cooking chamber has unique convection system to distribute heat evenly over 1000 sq. inches of cooking surface. Dual high-pressure burners for all-purpose frying. 18in. L firebox has handy warming tray. Includes LP log lighter system with control panel in firebox, temperature gauge, 40in. x 20in. slide-out work table and storage box and large tie-down storage area. Made of 1/4in.-thick steel, fully welded 20in. smoker with offset firebox for grilling and smoking. 2in. square tubing trailer frame has 12in. wheels. U.S.A. Factory shipped.

I doubt it....you would need to mod it like a charbroil....with a pipe down to grate level, come to think of it why not just mount a charbroil on a trailer it is barely bigger then one.....

The bigger pict is the unit my bro was looking at. In good shape, needs some trailer touchup. With a couple 30 Lb propane tanks...hauled it away for 1K.

I'll agree with you when Char-Broil starts making their units out of 1/4" material. Bringing the stack down to grate level is a basic mod; no biggy, imo.

not too shabby. the trailer alone is worth at least $600, plus the box, tanks, and smoker... not too bad of a deal. with a few little mods it could be perfect i bet.

i recently acquired a donor trailer for my cabinet smoker build... just gotta by the new tires so i can safely haul it.
                    Current babies:
                    -Daughter's 10"x24" RF smoker
                    -RichTee's Lang :)
                    Former Lineup:
                    -Charbroil Santa Fe grill
                    -1954'ish Philco fridge smoker
-1950's GE electric fridge smoker in progress (Went to WuTang and will probably never be completed. lol)
-enough beer to drown any problem/ailment you may encounter

If your brother agreed to it, that's great
I think he got a good deal. I'd like to see some pics of the inside
and see what all the hub bub is about the "unique convection system".

Yeah...all I got was a phone call and a phone pict..heh... but from what I found, it's a good deal even with a bit of work/tweaking... I'll get him to take some better pix. He got it 2 hours from home.

for a grand it's not bad...I was thinking new purchase....1/4 inch thick steel is expensive now a days..plus the trailer to boot. If he know anyone that can weld he could cut off the stack and lower it with not much trouble. And going off of the diameter I bet a extra shelf could be added as well. Not bad for the price

It would be interesting if he built a fire in it and did a temp check from end to end just to see what the difference is before any "tweaking".
At a bit less than 25% of retail he did quite well.
I hope he uses it in good health

Apparently there is a baffle system..progressive hole type. The stack will need dropping. Prolly 6 butts, 8 St Looies he says...oh, and it needs tires He's hoping not to blow on on the way home.
