  • Homemade Sea Salt Caramels

I have been searching high and low for the perfect sea salt caramel recipe. I just love them. After trying dozens of recipes only to be disappointed I came across this recipe on Okra's site. The first time I made them I burnt the shit out of them and had to toss the whole mess. Then I tried again, stirring like a mad fevered wench. It was soooo worth it. So buttery and yummy. So, if you're into candy making you might wanna give this a go. It would also work as a pourable caramel sauce too, just don't cook it as long. I ate about 5 of them and gave the rest away.

Wow, that is some beautiful looking caramel, Squirrel! Very smooth!! Would it work if you added some chopped nuts at the end before cooling?

I'm sure it would. I want to try adding some pecans. Yumm. Maybe dipped in chocolate.

it's the: 'I ate 5 and gave the rest away'.
                  That confuses me :-)

I could maybe understand giving away 5 and eating the rest
