  • BBQ Engineer's 5th Annual Fourth of July Neighborhood Blowout

We have a great neighborhood...and we throw one hell of a party on the fourth of July, complete with a catered bbq feast, a band, and a fireworks extravaganza that will put most towns to shame...seriously. It has taken me several days to recover from this year's blowout, but here is a taste of what went on...I didn't get all of the pics that I wanted to, I end up pulled in a thousand different directions, but trust me it was amazing.

I started by cooking about 300 lbs of meat for the event. The total plate count was 258.

    Briskets

    Butts

    St. Louis Ribs

    Ribs

Briskets - made burnt ends from the points. Dang I love those.

Setting up mortar batteries around the pond.

64 thousand firecrackers in the wall of fireworks

    Trailers ready for deployment

    MOrtar batteries...hell yeah!

The Finally trailer ready to go.

You can see this thing daisy chained around the trailer...one flip of the switch and this bitch is going sky high!

    The buffet line...

2 different kinds of sausage...I did 40 lbs worth

Our band getting ready to go. Those two women are amazing...and really hot.

The weekend before the party, we have a tie dye event and people with tye dye are part of the neighborhood or have a close connection to it. Kinda cool.

A bunch of the kids intentionally got the john boat in the center and capsized it. Mrs. engineer questioned if they were in trouble, and almost jumped into help...now that would have been funny!

We had "Pyro" for the band...they were singing "Riding the Storm Out". It was really awesome.

And a couple of pics from my mom's camera...

Man, what an event. It freakin' rocked, and people that haven't been out to it before were simply stunned. God Bless The USA!

Nope...we used one neighbor's garage for the fireworks trailer since we lost a bunch of stuff during last year's sudden rain storm. That is what we refer to as the "Garage Majal". He refurbs them and also sells parts on ebay as a hobby.

All I can say is WOW! You have taken partying to a level most of us will never know. Absolutely, positively amazing stuff. that doesn't come close to justifying this post.
