Fishawn 07-22-2011, 01:23 PM Got some Hood Canal Oysters & Steamer Clams yesterday afternoon & Orange wood smoked the Oysters on the kettle. Just steamed the clams in beer & seasonings. Video & pics.

I THINK the major problem down by you is water temps/bacteria, Mark. Prolly not an issue up there?

No, they spawn in those months - should be the same up there. But the temp thing is a consideration for me. It was Pops rule before they regulated them.

Oyster harvesting is closed July to September for the recreational harvester...folk's tooo dumb to get em on ice or still stacked on a culling table in the heat...:faint: Commercial harvesting is open...they supposed to know how to stay within the safe zone & tag the harvest time...:whistle: I just don't eat em cause the bay is to dang warm.

Very cool resource, I'm sure the "season" is much different there, especially farm raised.
