That's what the ad says "$4000", so I'd say it's right.

He states he added a guru for the price of 500 dollars. I am no expert by any means but I have a hard time paying for "MODS" I can understand paying for current value of the part that was added, but it sounds like this guy wants labor cash. Just my opinion, and I am NOT going to deny it is a great looking smoker.

Not labor cash, by the time you buy the Guru controller, sensors, fan(s), adapters and cables, you could easily spend $500.

Again thanks Mark. I guess I am just a backyard BBQ kind of guy. Don't have a need for all that stuff so I am a little befuddled that it costs as much as it does. So far combine a good meat thermometer, decent pit, helpful tips from this site, and some luck I turn out pretty good BBQ.

And I know reading this people can't hear the tone, but trust me I am not trying to be a smartass. I appreciate the links you gave because it provides perspective and education.

It's just more chit...you really don't need...unless you compete ( in more ways then one). It is not essential or necessary to Q as we do. Actually it makes ya lazy!

There's always a little voice inside my head that mumbles "cheater" when I see those on a cooker at a comp.

Nice smoker and seems to be alot of bang for the buck. As far as the guru goes I always felt that it brought you one step closer to just do it in the oven in the house already!
