  • Camping Installment #3: Dutch Oven Breakfast

Sorry I'm a little behind on this post; I had a hellofa time catching things up after vacation. Sigh. Such is the life of a small business owner.

This was the second attempt at DO biscuits (the first were great, but did not brown and took too long to cook). This time I buried the DO in the coals with better, faster results.

That's my buckboard bacon in the skillet -- the way God intended us to cook it -- over an open campfire!!!! The DO is under the grate.

Once the biscuits were done, I threw some chopped onions in the DO to saute'...

Then poured the scrambled eggs over the top...

    Here's the final result:

A little butter and jam on those biscuits, and -- well -- all I can say is "Heavens, they're tasty!"

    Thanks for looking!

Shone a little light on it :-)
That is one fine looking breakfast.

Just needs lashings of ketchup to be perfect
