  • Easter Turkey

    Well, we decided ta have a smoked turkey fer Easter. Got a 13 pound bird injected an soakin in my slaughterhouse brine an injection. Gonna net an smoke tammarraw! Will post some smoke-o-vision tammarraw!

        Outa the brine, rinsed an a bit a smoke in the holler rub.

            Update-Plastic nettin

            Ok, feller talked me inta buyin them plastic ham an turkey nettin bags, just as good as the others he says! WRONG! They will not hold up, I done dropped this bird in the water pan twice! I finally got bent an put it on a rack! I will be goin back ta my cotton string bags fersure!

                  Maybe string the salesman up in one of those plastic nets and see how good he thinks they are.

                        The Finished Bird!



                        Well after two escape attempts, here it is all finished up! Sure do smell good! Gonna carve after while, let it set an soak up it's juices. Will rewarm fer dinner tammarraw!

                              Tip your turkey looks absolutly yummylicious... The skin looks perfect...
                              Next yardbird I do I am using the slaughter house brine, I did not this time as this turkey was not mine but my neighbors and she has an injection she wanted to use, so I worked the brine around that.
                              That is a beauty of a turkey!
