  • Pickled Pike, Thanks Erain

Said to myself a while back the next time we go fishin and catch a pike, his ass is getting pickled.

Did it like Erain did in his thread, http://www.smoked-meat.com/forum/sho...ed+fish&page=2

Still have a couple days to go before I crack one open and devour.

Here is the victim. Bastard hit my top water Bass plug. How dare he....

Rinsed after a 2 day soak in salt water.

Day 2 of the soak in vinegar.

And packed into pint jars loaded up with onion cuz I like the onions just as much as the fish

So, sometime early next week, I am going to crack open the first jar and see if everything turned out like I hope it will. Thanks to Erain for answering my questions in our pm's prior to me making it. Thanks buddy

    Thanks for lookin.......

        DEAL

Yes, they are a blast to catch. I love rippin a buzz bait across the water or a big spinner then slow it down as it approaches the boat. Do a little figure 8 with it and watch them come out of no where doing Mach 4 and nailing it. Scares the shit out of ya but it's fun

Sooo are these pressure canned I guess? Christ...hard to believe a bug is gonna make it thru the salt AND the vinegar... but I guess that's the point.
