But cut them into rings instead & used a pickling spice mix from a bulk foods bin instead of the individual spices he had noted. Besides having a bit too much "spice" flavor, these things are really good. I had to open a jar to try them after about an hour. I used 4 T of pickling spice, which probably should be cut down to 2 T. If you like jalapenos & the sweet & heat thing, give these a try. I think I will be making these again this weekend to give away & doubling the batch & using 1/2 pint jars.
