Just placed an order for original Cowtown, Cowtown Night of the Living (my favorite), Arthur Bryant's Sweet Heat, Arthur Bryant's Original, Jack Stack Original, and Jack Stack Spicy sauces. Also ordered some rubs from Cowtown... love me some Oklahoma Joe's bbq... best in KC. Who else frequently orders sauces/rubs from their favorite bbq restaurants that are out of state and what are they?

I've never bought any que sauce from Texas... The thing about all these KC based sauces is that they're all the exact same as they serve at their restaurants. I never buy my sauce at the supermarket, always order from my favorite bbq restaurants online if I'm not making my own.. Here's a great site to get you started if you've never seen it before...

I've had the Arthur Bryants stuff before, thought it was OK, still got 1 left I think. Other stuff sounds interesting, thanks for the link. :thumb:

I'm sort of partial to my own home recipe. I believe the aardvark has made it and enjoyed it....recipe is here (http://www.smoked-meat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15110) if you'd like to try making your own.

as far as restaurant sauces Maurics Carolina Gold is without equal. It is a mustard base and it is goooood!!! not the thin vinegar and mustard either.
Instead of buying it here is the recipe:
equal parts yellow prepared mustard and brown sugar
half as much wooster
powdered garlic
powdered onion
dash franks
DON'T let the simplicity or the recipe fool you it is seriously good. tinker with it to your liking

Not that I mail order for it, but when I get back "home" and have a hankering for some burgoo or mutton, I stop at Moonlight and get some sauce for use when I am not at "home".
Since hanging around here I have picked up a habit of making my own.
