I don't know if ya'll have a Costco store near you (Warehouse shopping like Sam's) but I went in the other day for a few things and thought I'd pick up some Kingsford Comp. (only place I can find it) since last spring I've been paying $18.00 for (2) 18lb bags. It's the only way they sell it, low and behold I can't find it so I ask someone where they put it and he said "the back corner of the store" so I go to the back and find it. The sign say's $6.00 for (2) 18lb bags not believing what I'm seeing I find someone else and ask if indeed that was the price...YES .166666 cents a pound... I was paying .48 cents a pound. I bought 15 (2 bags per) for $ 90.00 saving $ 180.00 270lbs in the garage.

Keep it up offa the concrete. Same as batteries discharging and anything absorbant... the concrete will wick humidity into the bricks and at best dampen them, at worst, make them into the dust they started from.
