Here's the smokin of the peppers thread...
    http://www.smoked-meat.com/forum/sho...threadid=17163

Today we have a bunch of crunchy dried japs and habas.

    The japs

    And the habs

A few years ago, late night, most likely under the influence of something, we bought these Magic Bullets from an infomercial. That's my pepper grinder.

After 4 ten second spins, I got this

4 batches in the grinder got me this

Three batches of habs in the bullet got me this

I've made a 5 pepper salt and a Jalapeno salt so far, gonna play around and they a few more with these batches. A fun project this was.

A funny note - as I was getting the stuff out for grinding, I turn around and see my 2 y/o with a dried haba half in his mouth. I freak a little more than he does, but he starts a pretty good foamy spitting spell! Wish I would have had the camera in my hand then!!

Looks great. I have learned to wear gloves & dust mask when grinding peppers. It has saved me a few times. Before I started that I would sneeze & eyes would tear up.

Yep, I learned long ago to wear gloves. Wife walked into the kitchen and had a sneezing attack...

Yeah! The confused look on his face was priceless. That kid though, he'll eat a handful of wasabi peas and come back for more...

play around with different mixes for pepper salts / rubs. I have two so far that I like if I can find the scribbles and re-scribbles that I wrote down when mixin them up. Gonna keep good track of the proportions this time.
