Ken, I really don't garden anymore. Might take it up again when I retire but not enough time now and when the veggies come in at the local produce stands it is probably cheaper just buying it. I keep telling myself that anyway! This was a great year for produce in Michigan and yes Ken, you do need a summer home here to get out of that ungoddly heat in Tejas. Bring Billy Gibbons with you!

That was before my time...still on the dark side...

I have harvested little more than a dozen maters this year...not counting cherries...Usually have a hundred or two pounds...Even more back in my farmers market days...This is the worst year I have ever seen...But my plants have finally set some new fruit...If only the frost will hold off...

                  Sorry for the hijack...

Nicely done.....I battled the stink bugs again this year....well over 100 quarts maters, but them bugs got after some of my peppers and i lost 40% or so...

30 inches of rain in a month ended me main garden earlier then normal though...

This only my 2nd year canning and I have no idea what we'll go thru during the course of the year. Only did pickles and kraut last year and ran out in the Spring. Doubled those and guessed at the rest.

                              Good stuff Lou!

I just got started this year. Bought most all of the veggies and fruit.
So far 12 quarts whole tomatoes, 16 pints mater sauce, 4 applebutter, 4 pints preserved lemon and 6 pickled okra! Just a start, Oh....the okra is ready!!! I just tried a couple reallllly good!
