Heard this about a week or so ago... Re: Fats and health. Alot of the Asian and other cultures drink hot beverages with their meals. Soo... eating a meal with some fat...the heat of the drink helps keep the fats liquid thru into the large intestine, as opposed to a cold drink, which would cause them to congeal.

And more to the point is there any evidence that their cholesterol/obesity levels are any lower than people who don't drink hot drinks with meals ?

That was the point of the article. Less heart attacks and lower cholesterol. Come to think on it I heard it on a news radio spot, so I guess I can't post the darn thing.

Hmm and I thought it was the bamboo chop sticks that helped. But then they eat live monkey brain also among udder tings must be a combination. room temp red wine after a meal helps keep the eternal buzz going.. a martini after dinner is just to rough.

sigh - in the us you call chinese, indians, pakistanis, bengalis, thais, indonesians, japanese etc asian.

In the uk asians are just those from the indian subcontinent.
Chinese, japanese, thai, indonesian are not generally classed as asian.

Plus there are dozens of different cultures and food and drink types covered by such a blanket term as 'asian'.
japanese cuisine is as different from most indian cuisine as it's possible to get.

So which particular asian cultures does this cover ?

Oh well it would have been interesting, not entirely sure how driving on the correct side of the road relates to your inability to tell other nations, cultures and people apart from each other though ?
