We spent the day doing things we enjoy... working in the barn, tending to the critters, and feasting!
I was inspired recently by Walle's post on onion rings. Pande's Kentucky Fire Crackers have become an absolute staple at our house. The kids want to know why the designated bowl is empty! So I put the two together and made M.H. Kentucky Fire Rings... Damn!!!!!! While my bride and daughter (13) were inside making the rings, my son and I (11) fired up the chargrill on the front of Black Betty. With that big surface just begging for meat I threw on 10 strips and 3 rib-eyes. Prime Alberta Beef baby!! Improved with a generous coating of M.H. and Smokin Stampede rub. We wrapped some spear grass in prosciutto and grilled up 3 Dungeness crabs. Plate it up, pop the cork and savor the flavor.
I don't know which was my favorite, the smokey crab, the amazing rings of fire, or the perfectly medium rare rib-eye. Apparently my daughter made a killer cake...and a wafer thin mint....:drooling:
