I just bought a LEM 5lb vertical stuffer and so far it's been great. They have other sizes and I think you want to be sure that your get one with metal gears for durability.

Vertical stuffer all the way Mick.. I have a 5lb. and been very happy with it. Even if I make 10 to 20lb. batches.. I do not mind reloading the stuffer only takes a minute.. Some of the guys have the 5lb stuffer and wish they would have bought the 15lb. one. I guess it comes down to how much you want to spend upfront and storage. I dont have all the storage space I would like to have.. Thus why I went with the 5lb.

Grizzly has a 5lb like the northern tool one for about 10 bucks less... They do run out of stock on items and not tell the customer.. So call first..

I saw a chop rite listed for $50 on another site. Probably a pretty good deal. Looks to be older but in good shape.

Man. I been salami lazy these days.

Pork has been between .79 abd .89 for weeks now and while I've been stocking up on boneless shoulders, ham and fat, I really need to get back at it.

This sells today, but would be an excellent stuffer for you and is a size that you should not outgrow if used for just personal use - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=180348085203
I own the same brand in a 25 lb. stuffer and The Sausage Maker products are very good quality.

I got one like that a little while back. Metal gears, nice & sturdy. They're on sale right now. Not a bad price.
