  • Need help to see your meat?

Looked at different types of lights to put on the top of my smoker. Most of them were either cheaply made, not waterproof, or all plastic.

I also wanted it to be removable so i could use it on my grill. So here is what i came up with.

Hope this helps someone else out that is looking for a good outdoor light solution.

It is all metal, waterproof, and quick release!

Very Cool..... You rock on the BBQ/Smoker mods

When you say "quick release" what is meant by that?

    Nice looking light

Under the light is an air hose quick release. I have worked in many places that all had dfferent air connections. I have a box full of couplers that are all different manufacturers. So i found a good use for a few of them.
On the grill i just put a longer nipple between the flanged base and the coupler to get it up higher.

      Here is the coupler.

When I looked at the pics I couldn't figure out how you meant it was removable. 4 screws or bolts is removable?

Ingenious! Have access to numerous size/style air couplers and never once thought to use them in this fashion. Opens up a whole lot of possibilities. Funny how one person looks at something completely different than the next.

would a good size magnet work as well? I don't like the idea of drilling holes in my cooker....at least until I know it better!

I use a 9 led round light with hook and magnet.
                            Cost less than $5
                            this kind of thing
It also doubles as your to-and-fro to the smoker torch at night :-)
