  • Soda kegs.

I have a few, 10-15 soda kegs around I'm looking to get rid of. If anyone can use them or one make me an offer. They would need a rebuild with o-rings and gaskets and a good cleaning.

I'm in the south suburbs of Chicago. If no one wants them I'll take them to the scrap yard and make a few bucks.

Tee2, check for a brewers group in your area & I'm sure they will be happy to grab those corny kegs. I sold some of mine to a local brewers guild guy. It took all of 2 hours to sell them.

Yeah, seriously don't scrap them. Find a home brew supply store, they will snap them up.

Any Idea what you may want for one of them. I can get all the other parts of a kegerator set up fer free. That would be cool, head up to Frankenmuth and have that filled.

Now that I think of it I think it, it might be illegal for the scrap yard to take them now.

I can check at 3 Floyds They are only a few miles from me. Might be someone there looking for some kegs.

Some have a few dents but I was thinking $15-20 bucks each as is. Maybe I should do the rebuild and sell them for more? I have to have a look at them I have a few in the basement some in the garage and some stored under the deck. Some might be a little rough.

Why would it be illegal? Other than some po' brewer somewhere would have gave you $5 more than scrap for them ;{).

I have 3 here and have not brewed in 15 years. But damned if I'll sell 'em. YET

Because most people bringing them where stealing them from the back of restaurants.

I got the ones I have from the scrap yard. I told the owner that I could save him some money if he would give me a good deal on the soda kegs. He said sure what do you got. I told him when you take in soda kegs you might want to check that they are empty. He was paying out #2 stainless prices on 5 gallons of pop (soda if you don't live in the Midwest ). When I got the ones I wanted I dumped at least 50 gallons of pop. I had a friend that wanted them for him and some buddies that where getting into making beer. The last beer I had was one the he made. I was that bad. It's been over 25 years now and I don't miss it.

St. Rich's Dubble would have changed your mind...and perhaps got you fired. I used mary Jane for the finishing hops... very closely related- did you know that?
