Q: What does sex in a canoe have in common with light beer
A: They are both F*c%&i#g close to water.
I love the high alcohol dark beers that pop up this time of year. Today I stopped by the liquor store today and picked up some Sam Adams Double Bock. This is a Full boddied Beer that I search out each year about this time...I also found a new beer from the Sam Adams Imperial series...the Wee Heavy.
From the Sam Adams website...
Samuel Adams Wee Heavy was inspired by both traditional Scotch ales and Scotch whiskies, for a combination of deep roasted flavor and earthy smoke character. Traditional Scottish ales vary in intensity with the strong ales known as Scotch Ale or “Wee Heavy”. To create our own version of the style we added peat smoked malt to bring the unique flavor of Scotland to this complex and satisfying brew.
It is a beautiful dark reddish walnut color and an alcohol content of 10%. A delicious sweet maltiness and a nice smoky tone to it as well. Kinda pricey at $10.00 for a 4 pack, but I am going to stock up. Like a fine wine, this will age, so I can have some Wee Heavy later in the year.
I tried to take a pic to show you the beautiful color, so I put it in a wine glass...pic does not do it justice. Take me word for it...awesome.
