Our 16 year old SnPP was in pretty poor shape. It was used primarily as a grill with an occasional smoke when more room was needed. The Weber kettle kinda replaced her. Mrs. Rednose got to feelin' bad about her and suggested we give her a day or two at the spa and maybe a little rehab and facelift. Sounded good to me, so I got started on her this week.
Gave her a good cleanin' from stem to stern, a coat or three of fresh paint, new work bench & tool rack, a new belly button for thermo probes, helped her breathing out (stack mod) and tightened up her leaky lids.
Brought templates to a fabricator friend to cut a baffle and tuning plates, still need to put some new wheels on her....and then she'll be ready to go another 16 years. I'll update with a pic or two once she is released from rehab. Thanks for lookin'....and......
....a HUGE thanks to all those who have posted about SnP or CGP mods. Most of the rehab work was a result of your efforts....thanks a ton!! Here's some pics.

Several burn-outs to ensure complete offgassing of the food safe, high-temp RTV also allowed for tuning of the plates. Best range was about a 8* to 12* difference from left to right...seemed manageable. It was an easy, inexpensive project that was definitely worthwhile. After watchin' me work on it, Mrs. Rednose surprised me with a nice Brinkmann SnP cover.
Again, I want to thank DDave, HawgHeaven and others who have provided detailed posts on mods to offset smokers.
...and if you're wonderin'...four racks of ribs will be first!
